"We had a great time in Hawaii. We stayed in Waikiki and decided to drive 45 minutes to Waimanalo Beach. The hotels are affordable and within walking distance. The places we found in Waimanalo Beach wanted large security deposits or had a minimum night stay. However, the Waimanalo Beach was less crowded and beautiful."

"We got married by Capt Howie at Above Heavens Gate in Waimanalo Beach. This was a great option for us because we purchased a package from him and did not have to worry about different vendors. We did not have any guests and we just choose what we wanted to include. Wade did my hair and makeup, he was great ( a little pricey)but I def would recommend him. Chrissy was our videographer, she is so nice and our video turned out really good. It is only a 20 minute video of the ceremony but well worth it, so we could show it to the people who could not attend. I can't remember the guy who took our pictures, but he did an awesome job! We got 9 additional pictures for free. Both our pictures and video came earlier than promised. I think Capt Howie will let you use other vendors but I don't think he likes it to much. But everyone was so nice and did such a great job that I'm glad we went with their vendors. We decided to do a sunrise ceremony on the beach. Capt Howie recommends that you get the garden and beach package to get the best pictures for a sunrise ceremony. The price was a little more than we wanted to spend (like $700 or $800) extra to use the garden. Just an fyi, the garden is pretty but it is the backyard of his house. We had to get special permission with Capt Howie because we were going against the norm and it seemed like he didn't understand why we didn't want to use his garden. The beach was beautiful, very secluded. There was only one person walking their dog when we were there. Due to rain, we did a lot of walking and finding shelter. Also, we got our pictures cutting and eating the cake before the ceremony because of this. Normally, they would have the cake out on the beach but due to the rain we went back to his house. The cake was a guava cake, it was good, however it was still very cold and slightly frozen in places. For us, those were minor things and I would totally recommend Capt Howie and Above Heavens Gate."
