MICHELLE AND DUANE'S WEDDING

October, 2008 in Gatlinburg

"We got married in the heart of the Gatlinburg Area Park. The Great Smokies Nat'l Park @ a very small waterfall (not too noisy that way) with a .6 mile walk to the site from the parking area-Cataract Falls (behind Sugarlands visitors center which is not on most maps). We had our pictures (poorly) done by a photographer (and thank God our friend Tina and my mother in law behind the photographer taking digital pics with their cameras) at a few locations. The best was the overlook on the way out of Gatlinburg to Cherokee, NC. Beautiful!!! I had my hair, nails, and makeup done at Sheer Eny by Toni. She was awesome. It cost $100. We rented tuxes from Fantasy Bridal. $89/person. The lady at Unforgettables was horrible and we decided not to use them though they were about $10 cheaper. We had our cake from a local chapel cake maker and it was GREAT!!!! Everyone loved it and it was huge! Lots of cake went home with guests:) We had a reception at Damon's in Sevierville. A rough start but it was buffet style and went great once tables were set and people showed it came around. I bought my blue silk flowers from Ebay for $100, my dress and "gear" from Craigslist for $155 (a $750-800 David's Bridal Gown, WOW!) I used Teresa's Alterations and despite a miscommunication of my actual wedding day my gown was hemmed and taken in up top and on the strap the day before the wedding for $70. HAtcher's Cleaners cleaned the gown for $40 (cheaper than the big city closest to us, in Knoxville it was $75) I was pleased overall and everyone remembers a great time. I had a unity candle custom made at Dollywood for $28. I made most of the party favors and printed matchbook mint favors from scratch and our invitations and reply cards and envelopes that I got n clearance at Walmart for $7 for 40. (Not as easy as they say, the template on the website was NOT compatible with my printer so I had to use MS WORD. Everything else was mostly bought from Party City, WalMart, and Old time Pottery. The rings came from Heartland Jewelery on the Parkway in Gatlinburg by Corky's."

"Most her pics were too dark and some were too bright. MANY shadows on our faces!!!! Horrible quality for a PROFESSIONAL!!! I have to sue her in court for the rest of my pictures! She broke contract multiple ways! DO NOT USE HER!!!! Did not use my picture spots requested, gave less than the contracted amount of pics, left early, did not attend reception due to new work commitments and just plain screwed up my pics!"
