MICHELLE AND TOM'S WEDDING

March, 2009 in New Brunswick

"Our wedding was perfect. It was a little chilly but the weather was perfect for pictures! Everything was green and pretty by the end of March when we got married and our pictures outside (and inside) and around the Rutgers campus came out absolutely beautiful. We had an amazing photographer (Anne Constance Photography) which added to the quality of our pictures. Overall, we loved every minute of our big day and wish we could do it again!!!"

Coordinator:

Centilia Weddings

New Brunswick, NJ, USA

"These girls were a pleasure to work with. Anything we needed, they helped with and did it quickly and with skill. The day of coordination was our favorite part. We didn't worry about a single thing. The only snag we hit was taken care without me (the bride) knowing until the day after the wedding when the groom told me. We love Suzzane and Mallory and would definitely use them again."

DJ:

JMC Entertainment

575 Lexington Ave
New York, NY, United States

"Our DJ Jay was fabulous. We have been to several weddings he has DJed and didn't hesitate to book him for ours. He mixes music well, is clear on the mic, plays songs on your play list and doesn't play those on you do not play list. Very professional and not cheesy! Love him and would recommend him to anyone."

Florist:

Cranberry Blossom Floral Co

120 Hanover St
Pemberton, NJ, United States

"My flowers were PERFECT. They looked EXACTLY like I wanted them to. We both were so pleased with how beautiful the bouquets were and how gorgeous the room looked. Phone number: 609.894.8080"

Photographer:

Anne Constance Photography

New Brunswick, NJ, USA

"Anne is the. best. photographer. ever. I don't think I'm exaggerating either. We looked for months for the right photographer despite having found Anne's site early on in our search. She is expensive which is why we searched for a while. In the end, we went and met with her "just to see." Well, after falling in love with her photography talent online, we also fell in love with her. She is so easy going and fun to be around. We never once regretted our decision and after our engagement shoot with erh we couldn't WAIT for the wedding just so we could work with her again and see her work of our wedding day. She did not disappoint! The pictures (which we got back in 2 weeks) are so stunning and meaningful. They aren't your typical line up against a wall, hold hands, etc wedding pictures you see every where. She truly captured the emotions of the day. If you look at her website, you can see this in many of the examples she has there. These are not a few great pictures she choose to share... all her pictures look as good as those online. Check her out and ask about the rates. It can be cheaper if you don't want an album, etc. Anne is AMAZING!"

Ceremony:

Kirkpatrick Chapel - Ceremony - 85 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ, 08901

Kirkpatrick Chapel

85 Somerset St
New Brunswick, NJ 08901

"The inside and out are absolutely stunning. The floor inside is linoleum but we covered that with an aisle runner. Overall, I would give Kirkpatrick 5 out of 5 stars for the beauty of it. It looks amazing in our pictures! The reason I gave 3 out 5 overall stars in because of the sound system and apparent lack of concern. We and the couple who had a rehearsal before us could not play the CDs in the system there. The staff person on site was unhelpful and unapologetic - only offering that the "sound system is old." You only get 30 minutes to rehearse and after that they charge you extra. This is a problem when the music for your day is not being played AT ALL and you're unsure if it could work during the actual wedding. Our friends had to rig something with an iPod, speakers and a microphone in order to get our music to play. So, be prepared and maybe ask if you can try your music out even before the rehearsal day... it will save you a TON of stress."

Reception:

Ria Mar Bar & Restaurant - Reception - 25 Whitehead Ave, South River, NJ, 08882

Ria Mar Restaurant

25 Whitehead Ave
South River, NJ 08882

"Ria Mar was absolutely FABULOUS. From the first time we walked in to even talk about having our reception there, we felt like family and like we were the only people getting married there all year. It definitely isn't like some of the "wedding factories" in NJ. They are able to work in any budget and make your event look and TASTE like a million dollars. We were able to customize our entire menu... no choosing one entree from each list, no choosing 5 appetizers from a list of cold and hot... just sitting down and talking about what you like and what you want to serve your guests. Rui - the manager/owner that helped us through the whole process - offered many menu suggestions and worked with any of our requests. The service from Rui down to the servers and bar staff is nothing less than 5 stars. Our food was amazing and people are still raving about it. If I had to do it all over again, I put choose Ria Mar every single time. In fact, we've already talked about having an anniversary party or other celebration there some time in the future. If you're on the fence, just call Ria Mar and speak to Rui. You'll feel instantly at ease and like all your questions are answered honestly and without a sale pitch. You won't be sorry!!!"

We loved being able to have brunch with our guests the day after our wedding and not have to burden any extra costs. The room rate is great too!"

Catherine Lombardi Restaurant

3 Livingston Ave
New Brunswick, NJ, United States

"Our favorite cocktail bar in all the land. Also, really good homemade Italian food. The drinks here are unique and interesting... always very thought out and delicious. We got engaged after eating downstairs at Stage Left and then spending a cozy evening looking out over a snowy New Brunswick. Maybe it was the amazing drinks! Go on Friday night for drink special and free passed hors d'oeuvres until 9pm. Michelle loves the South Beach (made with Campari: sweet and bitter at the same time - yum!) and Tom adores the Blood and Sand or the Philadelphia Lawyer (scotch and rye based, respectively)."
