Hi Sarah,

We actually didn't end up doing the Ke Iki Beach BUngalows. Instead, we booked the Lanikuhonua Phase II.

Ke Iki would have been my dream location and I've heard so many great things about it. If I had enough money to pay for the all the rooms for all three nights, I would have done it in a heart beat. But we switched venues because I couldn't get enough people to commit to staying there for 3 days (at least early enough, where I felt comfortable that I wouldn't be paying for a block of empty rooms for 3 days).

I found it stressful to try to coordinate things like who would stay in what room, where would the surplus guests stay, how would guests get around... I felt like not only were we forcing a vacation on our guests (which is a hard enough decision when you're planning a destination wedding) , we were also forcing their accommodation. We switched to Lanikuhonua so that all our guests could choose their own accommodations in the heart of Waikiki. North shore is a bit isolated and while I love it there, I had to come to terms that it's not for everyone. At least in Waikiki, there was something for everyone.

It all comes down to what you want for your wedding. If you're willing to take chances and hope that your guests fill up the rooms (and won't mind staying in one place), then do it! It's one of the most beautiful locations on Oahu and I really wish it could have worked out for me.
