Horseshoe Bay is BC Ferries departure point to Nanaimo (Departure Bay), Bowen Island, and Sunshine Coast (Langdale). Allow at least 45 minutes from downtown to Horseshoe Bay. Reservations are now available on major routes for about $17.00 and are recommended during the summer--especially on a long weekend (wait times can be as long as 3-4 hours without one). Please note that BC Ferries does not accept Direct Payment- cash and credit card only.
