It seems that every block in this city has a construction project underway right now. In addition to all the new condos going up (none of us can figure out who's buying them at about $1000/square foot), the city is also building a new Skytrain line out the airport and Richmond from downtown. After great debate, it was decided that we can't afford to tunnel and so the "cut and cover" method is being used: dig a giant deep pit in the ground, build the tracks, and then build the street back over it. Cambie bridge and Cambie Street to 70th should be avoided as that is the route the new line is taking.
