Guide to Krisjon and Charlie's Wedding Weekend
Saturday, November 3 - Join us at The Visitor Center of the Torrey Pine State Reserve for a hike with beautiful ocean vistas (9:00 am). 12500 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego CA 92037 858-755-2063 Directions - Torrey Pines State Reserve is located between La Jolla and Del Mar, California, north of San Diego. Take Hwy 5 to Carmel Valley Road, go West to Camino Del Mar (Coast Hwy). Go South (left) about a mile to the reserve entrance (right) at the foot of the hill. There is a $6-8 entry fee for cars, so folks should carpool from Park Manor if possible. Logistics - Please wear good walking shoes (hiking boots are not necessary) and bring a sweater if you need it. We will bring drinks (including coffee) and bagels to the Visitor’s Center. Most folks will head out on Broken Hill Trail which has access to the beach via north fork (1.2 miles), via south fork (1.3 miles). From there groups can walk along the secluded beaches or head back via Razor Point. Another group will head out along Guy Fleming Trail, a 2/3 mile loop. It is the easiest trail, relatively level, forested, nature markers; diverse scenery, ocean vistas, sandstone formations, spring wildflowers. Restrooms are available only at top of the reserve. Keep in mind that Torrey Pines is a state park and it is illegal to pick wildflowers or take pine cones. Bicycles and dogs are not allowed on trails.
