From the Capitol to Library Mall (Campus), this is a one-mile no-cars-allowed strip of shopping, dining and/or drinking (indoors and outdoors), people watching, and museum-going!

This street is the "main drag" of downtown Madison, with tons of restaurants, bars, and venues for art and cultural events.

For people in from out of town, State Street is loaded with bars and restaurants of every variety and is a great place to spend some time walking, especially in early summer.
