"The Fairmont Algonquin was fabulous. We had seafood (lobster, salmon, muscles, and seafood chowder) and it was fantastic. The guests raved about the chowder in particular. The hotel itself is beautiful, unique and a real throw back in time. The Fairmont have maintained the historic feel of the building right down to the original wood flooring! We used the Carleton Rotunda which is a room at the front of the hotel with windows all around. It is perfect for a group of 60 or less. We did order white seat covers from a Company called Barbara Leigh Designs in Fredericton as the hotel chairs are the standard issue wine coloured cushion chairs which look a little too 'business conference' for a wedding. We found that the service was fantastic, and keep meaning to write to the events manager to give our thanks. It could be because we were there during low season (May - I think the busier times are late June/July/August), but everyone was fantastic and really seemed focused on making the event a success. I am not sure we would have had that sort of attention elsewhere."
