"We absolutely loved Bubby's!! It had such a fun, laid-back feeling, while still providing great service and delicious food! The open feeling of the restaurant works perfectly for a wedding and encourages a lot of mingling. We had about 140 guests, which was a lot for their downstairs, but the coziness was exactly what we had hoped for."

"Bubby's was perfect for us- a great combination of an elegant affair with a laid-back vibe. Location- beautiful. Open, airy, windows with western exposure. Located right across from the Empire Ferry Fulton State Park with views of the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and NYC sky-line. Food- excellent. Not your typical catering-hall food. This place is an active restaurant and known for their food. We had one guest declare "best wedding food ever." And we're still getting comments from people about the pie. Service - awesome. From planning with their event coordinator, to our food tasting and many visits to the space, to our day-of dinner captain, everything was great. The people at Bubby's take a lot of pride in what they do and they are definitely pros. Only thing to know- since it's a restaurant and in a residential building, there's a strict policy that your event can't start before 6:00 and has to end by 11:00. We had our ceremony at Bubby's and started at 6, so we wish we could have gone another hour or so. They didn't rush us out at 11- we had plenty of time to say goodbye to our guests and for our family to help gather our things, but the last song was definitely over right at 11. So we just continued the party at a bar down the street!"

"Another Dumbo area favorite (see the extended neighborhood description of the Dumbo General store)-- Bubby's serves up super delicious modern southern comfort and soul food for lunch and dinner. Lunch is a nice time to see,again, the striking Dumbo landscape from the vast windows of this charming loft-like eatery. Across the street from Bubby's, you'll find Fulton Ferry Park, an urban waterfront promenade that is also home to the wonderfully weird landmark ruin of an old tobacco warehouse. (The warehouse is in fact where we first thought of having our wedding!) Bubby's legendary original location in the Tribeca area of Manhattan is also open, if you want to experience a different view and are craving classic American food."
