This 121-acre wooded tract is explorable via 3½ miles of nature trails, including a disabled-friendly Access Trail. Officially designated a National Recreation Trail, it invites visitors to wander ravines and ridges while enjoying the wealth of vegetation and wildlife for whom the preserve is home. Flying squirrels, broad-headed skunks, and over 50 species of wildflowers can be found. Beech, maple, black locust, and dogwood trees host several species of birds that fill the woods with song in springtime. A viewing deck affords gorgeous views over the preserve.
