Jessica and Spencer's Wedding
An upscale urban hub, this mile-long strip features a string of unique shops, boutiques, cafés, antique shops, galleries, and restaurants. The stretch of Elmwood Avenue between Forest and Virginia streets is the best place to shop, eat and imbibe in Buffalo. Just about anything can be found on this strip: music, antiques, boutiques, an apothecary, a yoga studio and tattoo shops. Businesses range from hoity-toity to cool and casual. Hungry? With pizza, sushi, Indian, Greek and several other food choices, you won't be for long. Located at the strip's northern end, the Albright-Knox Gallery is a beautiful Greek Revival building containing a superb contemporary arts collection. Works by Matisse, Gaugin, Pollock and ancient pieces dating back to 3,000 B.C. are on display. Business owners have made efforts to beautify the street and make it more pedestrian-friendly in recent years. Avoid the search for scarce parking and take the 20 Metrobus, which travels the tree-lined street day and night.
