This luxury hotel has a lot to offer even if you aren't staying here. The "Wash-Duke" as people at Duke like to call it, boasts a championship golf course and some very fine (albeit expensive) four-diamond dining opportunities. The Fairview is their main restaurant, and the Vista Restaurant is a casual kiosk-style eaterie that lets you eat the same fabulous food at much lower prices. Get a drink and some light food fare at the Bull Durham Bar (yes, the movie is about this Durham), and check out their afternoon high tea service...it's possibly the best you'll find this side of the pond.
