"In addition to Annette Ryan and Mark Twain, Hannibal, Missouri is also the birthplace of Molly Brown who gained fame as "the Unsinkable Molly Brown" as she survived the Titanic (on her way back to Hannibal from the Sorbonne in Paris). She went on to serve admirably in WWI volunteering at the American Hospital in Paris and earning the French Legion of Honor for her services. She even ran for the U.S. Senate in 1914 (albeit unsuccessfully). This is the place that it all began for Ms. Brown."
