"I rate the reception/banquet side with five stars but the hotel with three stars - so I guess I'll even that out to four stars. We LOVED the atrium in St. John’s. We LOVED our coordinator, Kathleen. These two things made our reception what it was and we wouldn’t do a thing differently here. We believed that the venue would set the tone for the reception and we wanted something nice but not snooty. And we wanted a traditional banquet reception but not a traditional square box room. The atrium filled that need. April was still considered off-season so we got a deal! The service was flawless at both the tasting and our reception – even some of our guests mentioned it. But the food was quite disappointing at the tasting and we were a bit concerned about it but it was EXCELLENT at our reception – received LOTS of compliments on that. The room is so unique that it really doesn’t take much decorating – it really stands on its own. If you are considering booking St. John’s ASK FOR KATHLEEN. She was our top vendor! She responds very quickly no matter what time or day of the week it is. She NEVER got annoyed with my 100 questions. She is incredibly organized and had everything written down and detailed. She would do anything in her power to make your event exactly what you want it. Our event was executed perfectly. If anything went wrong, I do not know what it was. Now the hotel side is a different story. The people who worked there were nice enough but it felt like the service you would receive as a single night guest at any ol’ Marriott and based on Kathleen’s service, and the fact that we had booked 35 guest rooms and spent thousands of dollars on the reception side, we expected more. It felt that they had policies and they would do nothing to try to extend a better experience to us. When our guests called to make reservations a few complained of staff being short or being interrupted by business travelers. (Now I’m sure that’s where they make their money but there are usually two people at the counter. Or you could be more polite.) They also wouldn’t guarantee us a late check out until the morning of our check out day. What? Why? When we checked in on Friday that room wasn’t booked for Sunday. And we only wanted to stay until 1:00. Check in is 3:00. Why can’t you make this happen for us? The hotel side was a disappointment."

"I had high expectations for the Inn at St. John's due to all of the reviews. I had numerous probelems with the catering manager that I worked with (Ella). There were things that I went over with her numerous times BEFORE the wedding that were not done the day of the wedding. This place is on the high end of pricing as well. The facilities are beautiful, but all the hassle I had to go through was not worth the price. It is your wedding day and is suppose to be one of the most important days of your life. It is important to pick a vender that is cooperative and listens to your wants and needs."

"The Inn was the most perfect location to get married. We didn't have to go anywhere to get our pictures taken - everything we needed was right there. Everyone said that the food was the BEST wedding food they've ever tasted - I agree! Linda was wonderful to work with and helped make our special day perfect. :)"

"The Chapel at St. John’s is so beautiful and the ladies that organize all of the wedding ceremonies are pros! We had our rehearsal on the Thursday before the wedding and the St. John’s coordinators (Kathy and Maryanne) had us in and out within an hour. I was a bit nervous at first because we went through the ceremony one time and that was it. Once we got to the rehearsal dinner, I was trying to remember all of the things that I needed to do and felt a bit overwhelmed – but the Deacon did a wonderful job of guiding us when to sit down, when to hold hands, when to light the unity candle, etc. The Bridal Party was able to go up to the suite about forty-five minutes before the ceremony. If you want to get pictures out on the balcony overlooking the chapel, make sure you ask your coordinator because they have to give you special permission to get the doors unlocked. The ceremony was about 35 minutes long and Deacon Patrick did a wonderful job welcoming everyone regardless of religious backgrounds. Overall, we were so happy with the ceremony. The Atrium is so gorgeous and you really get what you pay for at St. Johns. We worked with Kathleen and she went out of her way to accommodate all of our requests. Once at the reception, Marshall and I were waited on hand and foot – the staff consistently made sure that we had a drink in hand, or an appetizer to snack on. Beth was our Banquet Capitan and did a wonderful job of making sure that we were happy with everything, but stayed pretty much out of the way. Overall, we have heard nothing but rave reviews from guests."
