Dearborn Wedding In October
Dearborn   |   October, 2011   |   Attraction

"The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village."

Dearborn Wedding In September
Dearborn   |   September, 2011   |   Reception

"We absolutely LOVED the venue, but I have to give them 3 stars because we had some issues with our wedding coordinator. The coordinator did not disclose that they were undergoing construction, they were not understanding of any concerns we had regarding the construction and other issues. The wedding coordinator was VERY rude to me and my family on the day of the wedding when we were trying to figure out if we were using the rain venue. When I called after the wedding (very politely) to let the coordinator's manager know what happened, she did not want to hear it and offered no solutions, telling me the entire thing was in my head (even though I had random wedding guests coming up asking me who that woman was who was so rude to my mother before the ceremony). The venue itself is awesome, and the waitstaff were amazing (especially the woman who takes care of the bride/groom all night) but the interaction with the coordinator throughout the months leading to the wedding, and on the day of, sort of soured the whole thing for us."

"It began as a simple yet bold idea to document the genius of ordinary people by recognizing and preserving the objects they used in the course of their everyday lives. It grew into the ultimate place to explore what Americans past and present have imagined and invented — a remarkable destination that brings American ideas and innovations to life. The sheer scope and design of Henry Ford Museum is as grand as the vision that inspired it. It’s impossible not to feel a sense of awe as your mind adjusts to a different sense of scale — more vast, more expansive and more diverse— by far— than anything you'll encounter in everyday life. The sweeping, single-floor space with its soaring 40-foot ceilings covers nine acres dedicated to showcasing the finest collection of its kind ever assembled."

"A truly unique Detroit Experience. The Henry Ford Museum is a collection of inventions and innovations from the Rosa Parks bus to R. Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion House. Entering Greenfield Village is like stepping into an 80-acre time machine. It takes you back to the sights, sounds and sensations of America’s past. There are 83 authentic, historic structures, from Noah Webster’s home, where he wrote the first American dictionary, to Thomas Edison’s Menlo Park laboratory, to the courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law. The Ford Rouge Factory Tour is quite an experience as well. You get a chance to see how the ford F-150 is made, quite a fascinating process. This is a great tour! No matter what you choose to do here, it's well worth the time and trip."
