One of Atlanta's highest profile and most recognizable companies is CNN, the major cable television and online news source for much of the world. Located in the heart of downtown, CNN draws many visitors, who are familiar with the CNN studios from their TV screens and who wish to tour the Center. CNN welcomes such visitors, with tours given daily. Items on the itinerary includes the main control room, which gives a realistic behind-the-scenes look at news production. There is also an interactive exhibit area, an up-close study of special effects techniques and a special presentation that highlights other networks within the Turner Broadcasting: TBS, TNT and the Cartoon Network. Tours begin every 20 minutes, take 45 minutes and involve eight flights of stairs. Please be advised that children under 6 years of age may not participate. As tours often sell out, reservations (which are not accepted for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or Easter) are recommended and may be made by calling 1-877-4CNNTour or 404-827-2300. Same-day reservations are not available and online reservations must be made 48 hours in advance, Mondays-Fridays from 8:30AM to 4PM EST.
