"Brides this is a hidden gem! My husband and I threw our wedding/anniversary party at the Carriage House December 8th. We had little over a month to plan the party so needless to say I was somewhat skeptical and very nervous! BUT I had the time of my life! The night was everything I hope for and more. My mother law had suggested the carriage House and when we saw it we knew it was perfect for the type of party we wanted to have (casual extended cocktail hour). The Carriage House is set in a lovely location and is extremely convenient to get to. The grounds are beautiful and the House itself has so much charm, it is stunning inside with a very vintage look and feel. I can’t say enough kind words about Maria and Tom, they were wonderful to work with. They work with a list of Vendor’s, for which we used three. Gemini DJ Productions, Valley Tent Rental and Zowie’s Cupcakes in Teaneck (delicious!) They answered all the questions we had and made some great suggestions regarding the planning and decoration. They made the whole process stress free – thank you! I certainly recommend the Carriage House, please check this place out you won’t regret it!"

"This is a beautiful place. Not your typical hotel banquet hall feel - this is a real old-fashioned carriage house with a very cozy and intimate feel. Maria & Thom are two people that really love their job. Full attention is given to every detail. Maria is chock-full of so many ideas and suggestions. She even baked me cookies for my wedding reception! I also liked how the space can be tailored to any style you like. You can make the space your own for your event."

"We had our wedding on October 3, 2009. I highly recommend the Womans Club of Englewood to all the engaged couples looking for a charming, unique, and cozy atmosphere for their wedding. The place is truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere of the place is simple yet classic, it has a pretty decent size ballroom with clean hardwood floor, and a stage that has a nice Steinway Piano for anyone interested to use it during their wedding. Most importantly, the rental agent, Maria and her husband Tom are truly the most helpful couple. They truly love their jobs and go the extra miles to make anything possible for the bride and the groom. I had a relatively short wedding engagement, only 6 months, Maria shared lots of ideas, shared all her resources with me to make my wedding a truly wonderful one. Unfortunately, the weather was very uncompromising that day, and Maria went the extra mile to set up outdoor ceremony and planned alternatives for a beautiful indoor ceremony, all during that morning. I was very touched that she spent the time to decorate the outdoor lawn area knowing that there is only 50% chance that we would be able to use it. Tom is also very helpful, at the wedding, we completely forgotten that we need ice for the guests, they quickly took charge and got ice for us. For all the brides dreaming of a unique, beautiful and cozy wedding, I highly recommend this venue! Also, there are million of ways to decorate the place, which I find to be very special. Lisa Li"

"My husband and I got married at the WCE on September 27, 2009, and had the reception there as well. We started planning the wedding in June, only giving a few months to finalize everything. Maria, the rental agent, kept us calm and helped us every step of the way, from the caterer, photographer, and everything in between. She was available to meet in person or to answer questions on the phone or email, which was very comforting during such a stressful process. Maria was full of ideas and enthusiasm. We planned to have an outdoor ceremony, but it rained the entire day of the wedding. Maria and her husband, Thom, quickly changed the plans to an indoor ceremony and everything went very smoothly. Maria kept our nerves under control and made sure everything went as planned. The carriage house itself is beautiful, historical, intimate, and very unique. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a small, affordable, and different NJ wedding!"

"I fell in love with the building before I ever saw the place in person... a historic carriage house, lined by trees and accented with stone and red trim. Before I was even engaged I knew this would be where I wanted to tie the knot. On the day of my wedding it was GROSS outside and although originally I wanted an outdoor ceremony, I knew that I would have to have an alternate plan for a cruddy day. As a stressed out bride I was in no position to bring the whole ceremony inside... that is where Maria came in... I would have to say that second to the building, Maria is the best thing about the Women's Club. She moved the whole ceremony inside, didn't allow me to stress about anything and made the entire wedding feel seamless to spite the last minute changed. I would highly recommend this location not only for a wedding, but for ANY event!"

The location was gorgeous and all our guests were so happy to be there! As per the WCE's recommendation, we used Marcello's from Ridgewood to cater and they did a fantastic job.
