"Special Exhibition: To Live Forever: Egyptian Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum October 14, 2009–January 3, 2010 More than 120 items from one of the world’s greatest collections of Egyptian antiquities will help guests explore the universal theme of life after death. Mummies, sarcophagi, jewelry, statuary, papyri, and other age-old pieces illustrate the strategies that ancient Egyptians used to evade death and, ultimately, live forever. The Chrysler, which also is renovating its own Egyptian gallery, is the only mid-Atlantic venue for this popular traveling exhibition. Open 10 am to 5 pm Friday and Saturday, 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday $7.00 for adults $5.00 for teachers, seniors and military FREE to all visitors ages 18 and under and all students with a valid college ID."

"Now through July 19, 2009 - The Art of Glass 2 Lino Tagliapietra in Retrospect: A Modern Renaissance in Italian Glass This is the first exhibition to thoroughly examine the career and art of Lino Tagliapietra, widely revered as the maestro of glassblowing and elder statesman linking the glass centers of Venice, Italy and the United States. He is widely credited with changing the course of contemporary studio glass through his teaching, disciplined work ethic, and passion for the material. The exhibition will present 155 works from Tagliapietra’s 40-year career, including pivotal works from the artist’s own collection and collections around the world as well as designs made for industry and objects that have never before been exhibited."
