"For a wedding host hotel, I likely wouldn't recommend the Mark Hopkins. No coffee shops walking distance, no true useful amenities for out-of-town guests. It is gorgeous, and offers spectacular views, yet not too convenient for other things. Great distance to Chinatown, which our guests loved. The other very frustrating component is that there were a few mix-ups at check-in relative to the rate guaranteed. The hotel tried to charge my guests $80 more per night for a portion of their stay. Not something I wanted to deal with before my wedding day, yet we did get it all settled. Just annoying we even had to bother with this. Not a huge fan of the Sales individual we worked with. A bit more argumentative than helpful."
