Worth driving over once and stopping at the information center on the north side to get great views of the bride and San Francisco - when it's not cloudy!

The Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937 and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco. There is a display of the cross-section of a cable on the south side, but try to get to the lookout point on the north side for a great view of the bridge and the SF skyline.
