Horseshoe Bay is the starting point of the Sea to Sky highway and the most direct route to Whistler from Vancouver. Despite the construction in preparation for 2010, it is still a spectacular drive. If you are planning just a day trip, I recommend booking a tour with one of Vancouver tour companies. Most tours stop at Britannia Beach and Shannon Falls, and offer free time in Whistler village. The best thing is that noone has to be watching the road.
