I've always wanted to get married on Folly Beach, but with the park being closed I'm wondering if that can still happen. I'm thinking ceremony by the pier and reception at the park, the we site says the shelter is still open for rental. Anyone know if this is possible or have any other suggestions?? Thanks!!
I just got married on Folly Beach at the Pelican Shelter this past Saturday, April 28th. The park being closed made it absolutely perfect because you won't have to fight for parking with the public. We had an amazing wedding and everything was perfect! We had a short ceremony right at the base of the stairs from the Shelter on the beach and then partied our butt off til 11pm! Everyone said how great everything was! We had it catered by Just Eat This Catering, and Dj'd by AJ Snow with Ascend Entertainment! Nothing but a great time!
Wish you the best of luck. I am so grateful I got to have a dream wedding, and hope yours is just as wonderful!
We got married at on the beach right in front of the steps leading to the shelter. It was a beautiful spot, even with all of the sand that was washed away due to Irene. The rental was $950 and if you were serving alcohol it added $50 (beer and wine only). http://www.ccprc.com/index.aspx?NID=1518 is the link to the county park and their phone number is listed there. They will have an attendant manning the gate and emptying trash all night as well.
Park info (843) 795-4386. They still allow weddings at the shelter and beach area around the shelter. But all the other areas are off-limits and only people attedning events there go in. Its just closed to the general public which like the lady above said, is good because its more private. Best wishes.
