How big is too big when it comes to planning a wedding on the beach? Besides the natural noise of the wind and waves limiting hearing, bringing chairs back and forth could become a hassle. So when is a guest list too long to easily plan a beach wedding and how do you trim it down?

Mine was easy to keep small. We sent out invitations with 2 weeks notice, so only a handful of people were able to attend. I'm not sure how reliable the weather will be in March. So you may want to keep in mind how many people will fit in your backup location to help determine the length of your guest list.

I have had brides trim their invitation list down by having the wedding on a Friday. This will also get you discounts with most of your vendors.

We see anywhere from 75 to 150 for most beach weddings. I have not seen a large wedding (200+) at the beach. It's not that it wouldn't be good to have one, just most of them are scaled down and small.

Sound - There are a few places that rent battery powered P.A. systems. People plug their I-pod in for into and exit music.

As for the chairs, you can rent chairs and have them delivered and picked-up right there on the beach. Other weddings have instructed the person sitting in a chair to take it with them to the reception room.

Thanks

Mine was short and sweet only immediate family and close friends came to our wedding in Sept. I wouldn't trade it for the world it was at sunset and we did not carry chairs to the beach everyone just stood and then walked across to the reception site which was held at Beachgate Condos.
