Where would be a good place to have a nice intimate wedding outside?

We're getting married in Marmion Park, corner of 18th and Heights Boulevard. There's a beautiful gazebo.

We loved our outdoor wedding at the Courtyard on St. James. We did not have a small wedding, but Courtyard has the ability to accommodate weddings of various sizes. Many of our guests thought it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. On top of that, their food was also very good, and our coordinator, Lori, was great.

The River Oaks Garden Club's headquarters, the Forum of Civics, is a pretty spot (very nice gardens behind the building). It's at the corner of Westheimer and Kirby. http://riveroaksgardenclub.org/

The Parador has a great outside area within its stone perimeter wall. We spent a lot of our reception out there!

We had our outdoor wedding at "Northwest Forest Conference Center" in Cypress. The website is: http://www.northwestforest.com/. The neat thing about the Center is that they have a bunch of different types & sizes of venues, including an ALAMO, if you are into that sort of Texan thing ;) (We got married at La Terraza and had our reception only 25 steps away in La Hacienda, our guest list was 70)... But your event rental includes a wedding coordinator -- who was our LIFESAVER (Victoria Herman is -amazing-) There were also a ton of support staff on the actual wedding date -- even though it rained right before our wedding started, the Center got our chairs wiped down for our guests before anyone got seated. Plus, the center also has accommodations for our of town guests -- some of the rooms for our guests were right above where the reception was!! Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

The Courtyard on St. James Place. Although that was my intention, the day of my wedding it drizzled and was freezing cold so we had to do it inside instead. I picked that place though because there was an option B in case of inclement weather. The food was great and didn't have to do much decor because it is beautifully decorated already.

I'm going to be maid of honor in a wedding on the roof of the Grove (the restaurant in Discovery Green downtown). The wedding planner, Cecile Marquez, set this up for us.

The ceremony / reception was originally going to be at the Rainbow Lodge. The area they have behind the restaurant is a beautiful get away, but their food $$ minimum was really high. The Grove ended up being a couple thousand $$ cheaper.
