I LOVED where i got married but it wasn't cheap (Marie Gabrielle in uptown). In Denton, near dallas, there is a place called Wildwood Inn that was well priced and nice. check it out!

Hi, Selena,

An excellent place that is actually in Dallas is the Dallas Arboretum! DallasArboretum.org - Click on "Sales and Special Events", then pull down to "Wedding rentals". Depending on the size of your wedding, very affordable!

There are Ceremony only packages and Ceremony & Reception packages - and they do have elegant indoor facilities.

Next month would be a perfect time to check it out for how it will be October 2010!

If you can schedule your wedding for earlier in the day, it can certainly be less expensive.

I have officiated several weddings in various spots at the arboretum, it is always beautiful and great parking!

And just in case you're wondering, I am not affiliated with the arboretum except as having served as a wedding officiant - I am always honored to officiate a wedding there, whether it is small and intimate under one of the arbors, arches, etc. or in the largest garden area.

Good luck!

we were recently married at the Dallas Arboretum on Sept 5th. it was perfect and the outside ceremony and on-site reception hall was exactly what we were looking for. and it was so much more impressive at night. the experienced staff stayed on top of everything and it went off w/out a hitch. all of our guests have continued to comment on how beautiful and fun the wedding/reception was. upside - its easy to find and well-known, and parking was easy and ample.
the downside for you may be that it was not cheap, although we felt it was money well spent. after the inital shock of the price tag wore off, realized it included a lot of extras that would have been additional expenses anyway and the price was total for both outside ceremony and use of the reception hall, Rosine Hall, up to 11:30pm(we had to pay for the last, extra hour). also, they are strict about the vendors you are allowed to use. can only use their "approved" list of vendors.

overall it was the best choice we could've made, and since it was close to downtown, we wanted to make everything simple for our out of town guests staying at hotels downtown, so we had our rehearsal dinner downtown at El Fenix. it has upstairs private reception hall, huge outdoor patio facing AAC and the W, and huge windows facing downtown skyline, and price was extremely reasonable for what we had(although i think they have wised up just as recently as 2 months ago, and have increased their pricing - we have had other friends looking into it for their wedding next year).
we also had our Sun brunch at Ozona off of Greenville for family and out of town guests. they have a big room in back, and we used it as a "revolving door" of tables as people checked out of their hotel and showed up at different times - that was another perfect spot for what we were trying to accomplish. it was fun, casual, great atmosphere. there are no reservations, so i just had my best man go up there at 10:30am to let them know we wanted the back room. we probably had 60 - 70 people show up at differring times from 11:00am - 2:00pm and had no problem getting everyone seated and fed.

hope this helps w ideas.

Try Capella Court. My friend had her wedding there and it was lovely. Also, I was super impressed with how moist their cake was.

We are getting married at the Trammell Crow Center in the Arts District. Definately not cheap, but I think very affordable considering the location. You can search for venues on weddingwire and read reviews from other brides. Also check mywedding and theknot. Hope this helps
