I didn't hire anyone to plan/coordinate my wedding and it went extremely well. I'm sure it would've been easier to hand the job off to someone else, but I couldn't be happier with how ours turned out. You can definitely make it happen without one, it just depends if it's a priority in your budget.

Katie, thanks for your input. I live in Tennessee so allowing someone else to do it seems like a good idea but the budget is important too and since I'm going back on Labor Day, I'm thinking of checking around at different vendors for pricing in case I do it myself. I wanted to get some feedback from others so I'd have something to go on. Thanks guys!!!!
Our wedding is in three weeks and I've done everything myself or with my family's help. I would say it depends on how much free time you have and how resourceful you are. A planner definitely was not in our budget so I think it comes down to if you can afford it/think you can do it yourself without too much stress. I would get a wedding planner. Candice at YOJ has truly been amazing to work with! I would definitely get one at least day-of. I'm a DIY type person, but found Candice to be such a help, especially because my wedding is destination. She does day-of service as well. Have a fab day! Mine is a couple weeks away.... yay.
In my opinion, you should do most of it yourself to be cost savvy and get a wedding planner for certain things pertaining to your wedding. For example, directing and decorating the wedding. My wedding is May 4, 2013 and I've already started doing some things on my own but will be meeting a wedding planner next week to discuss what she will be doing for me.
