Church ceremony before the outdoor ceremony?

Ok, so I am Catholic and they are making it extremely hard to get married. I have heard of people having an intimated catholic ceremony a month prior to the set wedding so it will be acknowledged by the church and then have the outdoor ceremony with reception. Is this tacky?

Don't think it's really tacky... you just don't want it to take away from the moment. I have a lot of destination brides that have a ceremony here in Charleston and then go back to there hometown and have the reception. I'd recommend just having one ceremony, either in the Catholic Church or an outdoor ceremony, and then have the reception to follow. Not sure if there is a way around it but it's your day and I'd do whatever you want. Don't let anyone tell you different! :) Let me know if you need any help or a good photographer! lol
