Hi everyone,

We are trying to plan a very small wedding on the beach (around 40 guests). I would love to have the reception at a restaurant either on the beach or within walking distance. Our plan is to be have the ceremony on the beach and then walk to the reception. We are not formal people so a casual restaurant may work. Any suggestions for a place/restaurant that wouldn't break our bank? I'm trying to stay around $50 per person for food and alcohol. Also, I am open to suggestions to other beaches. We live in Atlanta and are not familiar with any beaches really. Spring wedding of next year.

Thanks for ANY help ;)

Check with the Holiday Inn there at Folly. They just reopened this March after rennovations. The Pelican Watch Shelter there at Folly Beach County Park is very nice and informal. The cost is $800 for the whole day but most venues will charge between 500 - 1500 just for using their facility. We used the shelter for our rehearsal and had Melvins cater. The parking is the only hassle but that seems to be everywhere around the Charleston area. Folly Beach is the only beach in that area where weddings are permitted on the beach. Be sure to get your permit. Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina is also beautiful. They have a small manmade beach at their location. I'm sure they would work with your budget.

Blu's at Holiday Inn is nice. Locklear's has a nice deck on the beach, very casual and pleasant. Do you have your photographer yet? All the best...
