Ceremony sites near Narragansett?

Can anyone recommend ceremony sites near or in Narragansett? It's a summer wedding so AC is important if it's indoors/at a church. If it's outdoors, we prefer to have something a little secluded (ie: not where beach-goers might stop and watch)

Thank you so much!

My ceremony was at the Point Judith Lighthouse. It's open to the public, but it's not very busy. It's right next to a privately owned gazebo, which you can make a small donation and book a ceremony there. That is open to the public also.

The lighthouse is free. You have to speak with the captain of the Coast Guard and apply, but it's free, very little hassle to book and it's very beautiful. No electricity there, but any dj you might have will have the necessary equipment. We bought a speaker/amp for $250 that worked great.

how about the point judoth light house? they are no longer allowing ceremonys at the rose nulman park next to the light house. however, with permission from the coast guard you canhave your ceremony on the green over looking the light house and ocean. becuase it is on the coast guard base there is not a lot of foot traffic. also there are several secluded sites at bevertail light house in james town.

abronkella: Did you have your reception at the lighthouse? I've been to a quick ceremony there but I've never seen a reception there? I drove by a wedding reception at a house across the street from Camp Cronin that looked awesome. The bride & groom rented the house for a week, had their reception their and then their honeymoon. The yard isn't that big but it looked really fun.

I am currently searching for places in Narra for a reception as well. I would love it if someone would let me pop up a tent on their mansion lawn....anyone know anyone?? You never know!

No, we are having the ceremony at the light house and the reception at the Kinney Bungalow at sunset farms. I thought about having my reception at a beach house but there are quite a few problems with that; 1. a tent appropiate for a wedding starts at $5,000 2. then you have 2 rent tables and chairs (very cheap at Kinney and sometimes included at other facilities) 3. you need a dance floor and lighting, 4. you need a generator, 5. depending on how many people you are having you might need to rent the nice port-o-pots ($2000). Also a lot of places wont let you put up tents cause it damages the lawn. How many people are you thinking of having? Whats your budget for the location?

No, we had our reception at The Towers. The reception there was better than I imagined...it was great! I'm not sure if they would allow the reception at the lighthouse. They barely wanted me to have chairs setup. (they were worried about the insurance with the uneven grass and people getting hurt) I asked them for 60 chairs and they said it would be no problem.

I was looking at Kinney bungalow (I actually live right down the street). I haven't looked at tents yet, is it really that expensive? That is crazy. We will be having about 150....haven't figured out a budget yet but I WILL NOT be spending $20 G's on one day....Or at least I'm going to try not to! I know that is a very small budget in this crazy world we live in!

I have checked out Easton's Beach Rotunda which was really nice and not too pricey. I'm checking out the Village Inn in Narragansett on Sat. I'm trying to decide if it is cheaper to have everything included or be able to bring in my own vendors.

abronkella: How many people did you have at yours? I went to a wedding the towers and found it to be very small. Did you have that problem?

Thanks for all the advice guys....I really need it!

We had 120 people at our wedding (invited 130). It wasn't crowded at all. Some people hung out on the balcony when it got too hot on the dance floor. We probably could have fit another 16-20 people or so...maybe two more tables. There was plenty of room on the dance floor and the tables weren't too crowded.
