Hi! I am looking for a photographer for our wedding in March 2013. My budget is $1500, and I would like 7-9 hours of great photography and just a CD with all of the edited photos. Any suggestions? Thank you!

That is a very low budget for that many hours and all edited files. While I totally get being in a budget, it all depends of the quality of services and products you are looking for. Remember the saying, you get what you pay for, and this is very important when it comes to wedding photography as it is the only thing you will have from your wedding day to remember it. The photographer that will usually meet that price range is usually inexperience, someone beginning or whose service and products are low quality in order to be able to make a profit. In other words, you are risking it. My advice is whoever you interview ask to see complete wedding galleries and not just a portfolio of best images. Although you are not buying a wedding book, make sure you see complete wedding book as that will tell you how consistent is his or her work, and if he or she is able to tell your story on images. I can suggest to check the work of José Ruiz: http://www.joseruizphotography.com/ as it could be an exception in that level you are looking at.

Check out alex marrero photography. If you google his name and click on the picture it will take you to his Facebook page. He did photo's for my husband and I. Your budget is much higher than mine. He's great. When he did out pics he was a student and that was in 10/2010.On his Facebook page our photo's are under Nicole& Marlon. His phone # is 787-463-8944.Please beware looking for a photographer on here.Someone told me that with my budget I wouldn't get quality photo's. Just a little Fyi. Goodluck!

As David stated if you're not giving the respective importance to your photography you might have a appretince on this budget in your wedding. I recommend that you do a new budget and search a wedding planner that could help you on Vendors details. It's almost impossible hire a GOOD photographer for 9 hours for this amount in PR, unless you get an apprentice or an insane "Photographer".

I just got married last Sunday and we used Frances Flores Photography. For around $1550, we got over 8 hours of shoot time (she came at 4pm and stayed until after our reception ended at 1:30am), a separate love story session that she took wherever we wanted in Puerto Rico, we're getting a photo album with 15 pages (can't remember the size off the top of my head), a framed 16x20 picture, a dvd & a cd of the photos, and 2 6x6 albums to give to our parents. She is young so she has a very creative and up to date style as far as the albums go. I'm very shy, especially in front of a camera and she made me feel extremely comfortable. She came with an assistant as well so we have a ridiculous amount of pictures. The price you are asking for the amount of time & a CD is very reasonable in Puerto Rico. We found Frances Flores at the Carribean Bridal Expo last year and all of the photographers were around the price you were asking if not cheaper. However though, for the amount of additional items (especially the separate Love Story Session) I would definitely go with Frances, she was absolutely the best. Check out her website: francesflores.com

- Hope this helps!

Hi!

I think you are looking a photographer with the wrong method. You should check some websites first. Then take a paper and pencil and write the name of the photographers that his/her style works best for you. Then you talk to them and look if you have chemistry with any of them. And the final step is asking for price. Remember that you will spent all your wedding day with the photographer, so it's VERY important that you feel comfortable with him . Please feel free to contact me so I can help you with your wedding photography. I'm sure the cost will be more that your current budget, but I can guarantee that you will end with the best pictures possible of your wedding and we will have a lots of fun!

Cheers!

Jose

I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks in san juan. My budget is similar to yours and I think you will be very happy with Jose Rincon's packages. His pricing is affordable and he doesn't have an hourly time restriction. Check out his website and request availability for your wedding day at http://joserinconpr.com/

Best of luck!
