"free" rehearsal dinner space downtown?

I'm looking for a low-cost (ideally, no-cost) space in which to hold my rehearsal/"welcome out-of-towners" dinner in downtown Rochester on Friday evening, Oct. 16, 2009. We had planned to have it catered in the basement of my mother's church, but that fell through. Are there any other options folks can recommend? We need space for about 40 people. Our guests are staying at the Rochester Plaza and the Strathallan, our wedding is at Blessed Sacrament Church on Monroe Ave., and our reception is on East Ave. I'd love to be able to stay close to all those venues. Thanks for your help!

You should go check out the Bagel Bin Cafe, near 12-corners in Brighton. That is where I am having my rehearsal dinner. It's a really great location and it closes every day at 4pm so you can rent the entire space for the evening. It has plenty of room and you can either have them cook the food, or you can have food brought in. Prices for them to cook the food is around $20pp and they'll make whatever you want. POC is the manager, Randy.
Other places we looked at: Northfield Food and Drink, Brio Bistro
