Your most budget friendly option is a loaded iPod and a good friend that can be responsible for controlling it! :) Lots of people are doing this these days because DJ's are WAY, WAY expensive. $1000 easy.

we hired Ryan of Island Sound- he was FANTASTIC. we had a smaller wedding (only about 65 people) but everyone thought he was great, and the dancefloor was NEVER empty the whole night. I'd definitely recommend looking into them.

Sapphyre, Did u have a young or old croud or pretty even mix?

it was an even mix- we played rat pack & lounge (frank sinatra, dean martin, ella fitzgerald etc.) during the cocktail hour, during dinner I left it more for ryan's discretion- it was sort of john mayer & acoustic type stuff, then when the dancefloor opened he started off with more 60's & 70's- beatles, diana ross, etc. and as the night progressed we moved into recent charts, dance music, hip-hop & rock'n'roll. it was great and EVERYONE loved it.
