We are looking for a ceremony and reception site for a smaller group(35-50ppl). We are renewing our vows and don't want anything elaborate or expensive but nice. Our home church meets at the YMCA on Sundays so we dont have a chapel to use. Considering the uptown area Loft 1523 for the reception and need a church/chapel/outside ceremony location in the uptown area and also considering the Matthews area but also need a church or chapel. Thank you very much for your input!!

I would definitely look at St. Mary's Chapel which is not in the heart of uptown, but on the same side of town as Loft 1523, just down Trade Street at the corner of Kings. It seems the fees have gone up a little, but it is an adorable location! If the fees are too high, I would suggest looking at several of the garden's that Char-Meck Parks & Rec offer, the Rose Garden off of Hawthorne is cute.

Thank you for the suggestions. Unfortunately both St Mary's and McGill are awesome but way out of our budget at $500 for 50people plus all the reception costs. I will definitely try Charlotte Parks and see what is available.

You might be able to try Freedom Park...I was going to look into that if all else fell through. My venue was outside and also $500...so that's no help. Sorry!

Hi,
My church is located in the Commonwealth Morningside community in Charlotte, and we rent our sanctary out to the general public. Our sanctuary is newly renovated.I am positive you could rent the sanctuary for less than $500. The church information is as follows:
The Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church
2300 McClintock Road
Charlotte, NC 28205
704-344-9700
