Are you looking for a place indoors or outdoors, and are you planning to have some sort of reception too, or just a ceremony? There are a bunch of places. Marquette is centrally located and near an airport if you have anyone coming in from out of town, and it has several venues including various parks and beaches, the Landmark Inn, Great Lakes rooms at NMU, etc. Big Bay has a couple of pretty bed and breakfasts which would make a really romantic place to renew your vows (and quite a few little rental homes/cabins for a getaway for you and your husband!). You might also consider the L'Anse area, which has not only bed and breakfasts but also some great wooded areas, and many pretty spots near the water. There is also of course Mackinac Island, but that's pretty pricey because of all the tourists. If you wanted to venture a little farther away from Marquette you could go out to Copper Harbor, Munising (the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is there, and is the venue for many weddings and vow renewal ceremonies), Baraga, or the Houghton/Hancock area.

It sounds like you want something "on" the Lake, so based on that, here are some ideas:
First of all, the weather in Mqt changes easily. Be sure to have a "plan B" if you have your ceremony on the beach or fully uncovered (no tents, etc.). We were married in July and the temperature ended up being around 60 degrees or so! It worked out fine because we had an indoor ceremony & reception, but it could have been a problem if we were on the waterfront.

Here are a few places that I know others have had weddings:
Presque Isle: There are a few options there, but I'm not sure who you talk to in order to book the areas. There is a bandshell area with a covered stage area and seating room for a decent sized group. There is also a really pretty gazebo area that overlooks the water.

McCarty's Cove: That is near the lighthouse, but I'm not sure if you can reserve it for a ceremony or not. BEAUTIFUL area, though. We had photos taken there after our ceremony and many other couples do that, as well.

The Lower Harbor: This area has a playground, large lawn area, and is near the marina and an old ore dock. Again, I'm not sure if you can "reserve" it, but it's certainly scenic and on Lake Superior.

There are plenty of other beach areas (in town, on the way out of town, etc.) but as many are public areas I don't know that you can have them reserved exclusively.

Either way, it will be a beautiful vow renewal! :) If you want an indoor reception and have your ceremony in town, UpFront & Company has a really pretty hall with a balcony that overlooks the lower harbor and old ore dock area. They did a fantastic job with our reception.

Good luck & Best wishes!
