A friend of mine was married at St.Josephat on Southport during Lent a few years ago.

We got married at Notre Dame de Chicago and they were very easy going. it was a beautiful church and as long as nothing is booked I would think they'd be fine with it.

There are still several parishes that will do a Catholic ceremony during lent in Chicago. Holy Name Cathedral, which is where my husband and I were booked to get married last March. Due to the fire we were moved to St. Joseph's Church on Orleans, which ended up being a beautiful church and perfect for us.

Old St. Pat's was another church we were looking at during that time, and I believe St. Michael's is also available.

We married during lent too! Had no problem with getting St.Isidore in Bloomingdale, but opted for a more extravagant cathedral like church & one WITHOUT so MANY stipulations, which was such a TURN OFF! With that said we searched many different cathedrals & chapels throughout the Forest Park,Oak Park,River Forest,& Chicago area. Several had issues with…lent,floral decor,or being non-parishioners(6 to 12mo). However,a family friend introduced us to Notre Dame de Chicago & the priests, whom were very pleasant. Here is where we were fortunate to have the specific day & time we wanted. This was/is an absolute gorgeous cathedral & not many stipulations. Hope this helps!

PS: Another preferred option if I only knew then what I know now. Save the tens of thousands &just marry at your honeymoon destination or better yet, elope…lol! Nevertheless, I wanted that extravagant big wedding &so on. ~:)
