My fiance and I are planning on getting married in Key West in July 2013. We are considering getting married at the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. I was wondering if anyone has been to a wedding ceremony performed there and how they liked it. We were looking at 16 guests being there and we were concerned it might be a tight fit and that our family wouldn't be able to see the ceremony well or take nice pictures as it was suggested to me that family would be in the gazebo and my fiance and I would be on the foot bridge by the koi pond.
Hello and congratulations, I have done a couple of weddings there...and you are correct, you will be on the bridge by the pond. Your family however will not be in the gazebo.. it is too small there. They will be standing in the walkway across from the bridge where you will be standing. It is a nice venue that offers privacy for you and your guests. Best of luck. Aaron
I haven't been to a ceremony, but I have been to the museum...I think it would be too small for 16 people. They used to limit parties to 10. There is a winding path bordered by bushes, so views are tricky. It is really pretty, though, and the butterflies are very friendly.
My husband and I were married in Key West in March of this year. I did not get married at the museum and have not visited the museum. It sounds like from the other posts the venue may be too small. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
