I am currently in Iraq and trying to help plan a wedding..lol. We know we want the wedding ceremony on the beach and have already found a vedor to help us with that part. The problem is finding the perfect place to hold the reception. We would like to be able to bring our own food and drinks if possible. Any information or pictures of venues would be more then helpful considering right now I cant personally visit this locations.
HI PfcJones21! First of all I want to personally thank you for your service to our country. Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding. A great place to hold your reception in Clearwater is the Clearwater Beach Rec Center Social Hall - http://www.clearwater-fl.com/gov/depts/parksrec/facilities/cbrc.asp We photographed a wedding there on March 27th and it was beautiful! They have a great place to set up your own food and beverage. You could have your wedding on the beach and then easily get over to the rec center.
We had our reception at the Clearwater Beach Recreation complex and it was great - we had our own caterer and were able to provide our own liqour/beer, with a couple of hired bartenders from our caterer.
Thank you for the ideas...We are expecting around 50-100 people and want to do the wedding on the beach and have the ceremony close by. We have been looking at the sail center and the idea of rent a beach house. Problem with the beach house is, no one wants that many people at there home..lol. Does anyone have photos of the sail center, besides the ones they have posted on there site?
I would also like to ask, are there any local photographers that would be willing to shoot our wedding? Im currently gathering prices..and havent really seen work that im crazy about. I need a photgrapher that will be there from getting ready to last call..lol. Any takers?
What is the style of photography you are looking for? Keep in mind that in 10 years you will have each other, your rings and your photos. Thats it, the cake will be eaten, the flowers will be gone, thedress might not fit, but your weddings photographs are how you will look back and remember your day. That being said, how much are you willing to pay for those memories. I know our photographer was fantastic. She worked out a package for us that was within my budget and then later on I was able to add a beautiful album with hard pages. Looking back, the photography is not a place to try and save money, that is where you should splurge. As we looked, I also found that personality was just as important as technique. We talked to some people that were complete know it alls and I knew i didn't want them with me all day. I talked to one studio that was quite well known, but his attitude was hard to deal with. You are going to walk to talk to that person even if you can't mee them face to face. Please feel free to e-mail me if you need any help. I sort of miss the wedding planning process.
