Because we wanted a short engagement (5 months) we started out by picking one of the lease popular months. And because we'd already booked a trip to Mexico, we wanted a Saturday before that trip which would in turn become our honeymoon. January 24th worked - and it just so happened to be 10 years to the day that I'd met my Husband!

I think it comes down to what is your priority/needs to help narrow down a date. For amygirl (response above), they chose to have a short engagement and wanted to use the trip to Mexico to double as their honeymoon & chose a less popular month, and Jan 24th worked out for her (PS AmyGirl you look amazing in that shot...priceless & it made me smile!)

For us, we too had our list that we needed to consider:
- we didn't want a popular month either (as most of our very large families had occupied the spring/summer)
- we were paying for 2 days ourselves so anything sooner than April wouldn't cut it as we wouldn't have the funds...
- we also ruled out long weekends (bcs we don't enjoy weddings on long wkds bcs we can never go away)
- so our options came down to May 2009 or October 2009 and Oct was too cold for me, so May it was!

The other factor that I don't think either of us mentioned is also the venue. If you have your heart set on a location then you do have to go according to that and seeing what works & what doesn't.

Once a date is set, it does make the planning a touch easier...good luck!
