ASK SHARON A QUESTION
Question:
I have my dress already and my wedding is not until october is it to early
Answer From Sharon:
No, not at all. It's a good idea to get your dress at least 9 months in advance so that you KNOW it's there -- some brides order too late, and the dress doesn't come in on time! -- and so that you can schedule multiple fittings. Just keep it in a very safe place while it's with you, and not yet w...
Question:
i hired a photo booth company for my wedding, there will be one attendant working, they will be working the hour before the reception and then close during dinner and will reopen for 2 hours after dinner, am i responsible for feeding them dinner?
Answer From Sharon:
Yes, it's usually a must to feed the vendors who will be in attendance at the wedding, but you may be happy to know that most sites offer a Vendor Dinner -- usually a salad and pasta, NOT the pricy meal you're serving your guests. Some sites offer this for $25 per vendor, but you'll have to ask y...
Question:
My name is Arnetta I'm getting married on June 2011 how do I plan this wedding without it looking cheap
Answer From Sharon:
Hi Arnetta! That's a common fear for just about all brides and grooms right now, trying to plan a wedding on a budget and wanting it to look like they spent more. Here's some help: * Going smaller with floral centerpieces and decor is IN right now. Just a few tightly-bunched flowers in a sm...
Question:
My fiance and I are on a very tight budget, and we were thinking of having a cheap but extravagant outdoors wedding but cant find any great places in our town what do you reccomend us to do??
Answer From Sharon:
First, be a bit careful, because outdoor weddings require a lot of rentals -- the tent, tables, chairs, flooring, lighting, heat or AC...just a bunch of extra things to get to make your site functional. That said, many locations offer terrific outdoor grounds and gardens for an outdoor wedding ce...
Question:

Answer From Sharon:
This February 20th? Okay, this is definitely do-able! I'm sure you've already made some decisions about your wedding plans, so here's a list that can help you custom-create your own plan of attack: 1. Create your guest list. The people who will be there is always the most important factor, and...
Question:
I was wondering what is the best way to cut your costs on D.J.s the ones around the local area are completely not experienced in weddings and I don't have a clue how I can have reception without a DJ.
Answer From Sharon:
Yikes, the fact that you can't find deejays who are experienced in weddings worries me...since it's more about the kind of performance they'll do than how much they cost [or what kinds of savings you can get.] I suggest you contact other Wedding Mapper couples in your area through this site, ask ...
Question:
I was wondering if there is a way to weigh down your veil againist the wind? Thank you.
Answer From Sharon:
Yes! Your seamstress would carefull open up the bottom hem of the veil and insert teeny tiny little metal weights, sewing them in every 6" or so, so that the veil hangs down naturally and doesn't fly around in the wind. Once the hem is sewn back up, you can't see any lumps or even feel it until y...
Question:
Do you have a checklist for us brides that you would recommend? Thank you
Answer From Sharon:
Yes! One of my bestselling books has all of the different checklists you're going to need, plus tear-out planning checklists to give to your bridal party, parents, vendors, your groom and all kinds of other things. As great as many wedding websites are, I've found that their planning checklist...
Question:
I'm getting married in march 2010 and I don't want a big wedding but I want a nice reception although my fiancé says it's whatever I want but after many talks he says he would be happy with an intimate ceremony and a small dinner reception. How do I have a nice day to remember without a big wedding?
Answer From Sharon:
Great question, and one that's going to help a lot of people. :] What makes a great wedding is not the size and tons and tons of food and extravagant decor. What matters most is that a wedding of ANY size is made special by including your favorite things, such as a terrific menu of foods you love...
