Question_mark Question:

I am planning my wedding for July 3rd,2010. I am having a really hard time with colors. My Bm dresses are black I want Hot pink in there somewhere. I have an idea of limes in different vases for the reception so do I need to go with pink and lime green? I would like to have red but I am unsure how to do this. It will be a outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer:

A great floral coordinator will be able to show you amazing flowers that are so unique, and not usually used at bridal, such as vibrant zinnias and asters, astilbe for fall weddings, and more -- a floral expert has a super-trained eye for picking out the sizes of flowers you want, choosing the many tones of hot pink or green or red that will all work together perfectly...and floral designers will also help you pick out the perfect table linens to make any color scheme work perfectly! I highly suggest finding/working with a great floral designer you trust [our WeddingMapper brides and grooms can suggest their favorite vendors, too!!] and ask for help with coordinating the perfect shades of the colors you want.

If you think about that wall of color paint samples in Home Depot, there are a LOT of shades to choose from, and your floral designer can definitely show you some different types of flowers and this season's newly variegated versions of flowers in amazing new colors to use for your wedding! Florists attend trade shows and conferences all about these new flowers and colorwork, so let their expertise lead the way!!

As for my input, not all of your favorite colors have to be in the ballroom! How about using those reds in the cocktail party room, while the pinks and greens make the ballroom bright and energetic? I love the black tablecloth look with a green table runner, a vase of limes for a lighter and darker green mix, and then some hot pink flowers tucked in between the limes and as table petal scatter for some real pop!
