Question:

Our wedding is black, white and red. I was wondering the color for the mother of the bride dress cause I keep hearing all those colors are not good for her. We need help!

Answer:

This is quite a common dilemma, and the solution is to let the mothers wear their own choices of dress colors -- they don't have to match the bridal party. If you have your girls in red and the moms in red, it can look like the moms are bridesmaids! So let the moms choose their favorite colors that work with the season of your wedding -- a great, deep pink color would work for spring and summer, and a deeper mauve-pink would work for fall. In fall and winter, Moms are wearing a color called 'gunmetal gray' that is a fabulously flattering deep silver color with a little bit of shimmer in the fabric. It looks fantastic! A lighter silver color would even work in spring and summer. Ask a gown shop specialist to help you choose a silver or even copper colored dress that flatters the Moms' coloring. It's a great way for them to stand out and still work perfectly with your black, white and red color scheme.
