Hello and congrats! My wedding was at the Wickliffe House in June 2009 and it was amazing. We were extremely pleased with Mediterra Catering. The staff was great and the food was delicous. We still get rants and raves about it (we did the heavy hor d'orves(sp?)). The way they set up the food was very elegant and beautiful. My guests really liked the heavy hors d'orves set up (instead of a sit down dinner) and it was less expensive as well (and there was PLENTY of food). We just had tables scattered inside, on the piazza and outside. And did I say it was delicious?? :-)
We wanted our ceremony to be outside, and it was planned that way until a late afternoon thunderstorm made us move everything inside at the last minute. We were able to do the ceremony upstairs and it was beautiful. I was so impressed with how well the staff hurried in the rain to move everything and it was as if it was planned all along. The summer weather can be unpredictable in Charleston. Luckily for us, the clouds cleared just as we were done with the ceremony, so I was able to have the reception as planned with dancing and tables outside, and food/bar more tables inside. The flow was great because people could move around and change scenery and mingle.
I can't say enough good things about my experience planning my wedding at the Wickliffe House. I live in Ohio, so I did this all through email and phone. Everything was exactly as I wanted it, they really did such an amazing job. The wedding and reception had a lowcountry feel and that was what I wanted.
We used Dr. Holt Clarke as our officiant (his website is www.lowcountryweddingminister.com). He was nice and reasonably priced and did a pretty good job. Seeing that we had met for the 1st time the day before the wedding, he did his best knowing us for only a day. LOL He did mispronounce my maiden name during the ceremony though (but I have a long Polish last name so I'll dock some points for that.)

We had a family member officiate our wedding so I can't help there but we did have our wedding at the WH 11/13/10. I would highly recommend them! Jeri is amazing to work with and will help you every step of the way. We had our ceremony and reception there for about 125 people. It was perfect. We had the ceremony outside on the lawn and then went across the street for pictures while the guests mingled. The food is incredible and you couldn't ask for better staff of Mediterra Catering/WH. I am currently working with Winship Productions, a wedding planning company. The owner, Michael Winship will be performing our ceremony. I'm not too familiar with either of your venue choices, but we chose a venue that allowed us to bring in our own caterer. That is the least expensive option. If you're interested in contacting a great caterer, try Just Eat This Catering as they are taking care of us for our May 2012 wedding. Good luck and congratulations.
