Check out Sticky Fingers restaurant, they have private banquet rooms upstairs that can accoodate thta many people and prices are reasonable. There is also another BBQ restaurant on King Street as well (can't remember the name but do a search and you will find it).
Thanks!! Just checking it out now...
Also - try the Palmer Inn and have a caterer bring in a BBQ - or go Southern & have a Low Country Boil.
Sorry - just realized that you're looking for October 2011. I have heard that October is one of the busiest wedding months in Charleston. Keep in mind that you can always rent Marion Park & have tents brought in.
If you let me know which dates you're looking at, I'll tell you what I've found that's still available.
I haven't toured or photographed on the property but have seen some others work there and the photos look nice. My son lives in the area and I get by there often, I'd be happy to see if we can go thru next trip and get some ideas for you. Also, I have a friend that got married in Charleston, they had a gathering at a local restaurant and RAVED about the staff, location, etc. If you'll email me at firstname.lastname@example.org (put in the title "from Wedding Mapper" and I'll message her for the info and send it back to you. Best Wishes.
We are having a garden ceremony at the Confederate Home & Garden, at 62 Broad Street. There isn't too much online about it, but the property is run by a non-profit organization that houses elderly women in the upper floors of the buildings on the property. They have a gorgeous private garden and also a few really nice historic rooms inside (we can move our ceremony to one of these rooms if it rains). The rental fee is very reasonable for Charleston, AND the best part is that it is tax deductible because your rental fee is basically a donation to the non-profit organization! Just be patient if you try to call them because they have very limited office hours during the week.
