Great question! We're getting married at El Morro in April and I was wondering the same thing. If you don't mind me asking, what company are you using for transportation?
Actually we haven't chosen one yet. I just started emailing around for quotes yesterday. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if I should rent a town car for drop off (I read somewhere no cars were allowed except a delivery truck at El Morro) but from the looks of that video, there may be a way around that.
The lawn of El Morro is Huge and you can get the car about a 1/4 mile near to it. Depending on the wedding time you might get a lot of traffic to enter to Old San Juan and get to El Morro . Therefore, you need to get early. Be prepared to have a very windy wedding in a BEAUTIFUL place.

El Morro is a very beautiful place for a wedding, I know it will be great!In this link you will find a wedding at El Morro, they arranged for the fort to open after hours for them to take pictures and video inside after the wedding.

I got married in San Juan 5 months ago and had some pics taken at El Morro. Ladies: WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!! It will take you around 10 mins to get from the car to the forth. It's a long walk counting you are wearing a gown, high heels, hair done, MAKE-UP (you will definitely be breaking a sweat if you try to rush), and might be a little stressed out and anxious... Also, don't forget about the groom... I don't know how he's going to be dressed, but keep in mind that it's windy once you are there, but during the walk it feels hot and humid...! Don't forget the recommendation from chad983 about taking extra time to deal with traffic, it is really bad, even thought it gets ok every once in a while... I don't know the staff deals with tourists and visitors when there's a ceremony, but when I was there for the photo-shoot they were everywhere and they seemed to love to compliment you!
It might sound like I'm trying to discourage you, but I'm totally not. I just want you to be prepared and do all the planning needed in advance.
My husband and I think it was totally worth cause we really loved the pictures! We would not change getting married in Puerto Rico over anyplace in the world!!
In our ceremony permit, I have that 2 cars are allowed -- I'm just not sure how close they are allowed to get to the site. I had spoken with Jorge with the Park Service(SO helpful), because I was concerned about our older guests walking or being able to ride the trolley. I just requested a ton of transportation quotes, so I'll let you know if I find anything. We're also interested in a vintage Rolls Royce :)
I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if those of you that already celebrated your ceremony at the lawn of El Morro could share how you solved this issue. Did you walk from the street? If so, how was that? Did they let you drive a car down the main path? Any advice you could share would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! We had our ceremony just outside of El Morro, to the right if you're driving/walking up. We were allowed to have a car drive us almost all the way up, past the wall so my H and our guests couldn't see me get out. We walked behind the wall to the ceremony point, and then there was a little opening in the wall that we walked through. You still had to walk a little to get to the 'aisle', but nothing crazy.
Thank you for answering!! I had one more question: was your ceremony during the fort's open hours? I ask because I just sent back the signed permit agreement, and on one of the pages it says we are agreeing to a bunch of conditions, including that because the ceremony will take place when the fort is still open for public, that there will be no cars driving down that main path, either for the chair contractors or for the bride. Was that condition in your permit too and they just let you do it when the day came or was it not in your permit, and perhaps they have recently added that condition? Thanks again!!
I'm pretty sure that was in our permit, also. We were supposed to get married at 11am on a Saturday, so it would've been during open hours. There was a hurricane scheduled to hit the shore that day, though, so they closed the fort. They did still let us have our wedding though, which was beyond amazing, so technically there were no visitors while we had our ceremony. They knew that we had a rental company bringing chairs and that a car would be bringing me and my bridesmaids. Both the chair rental and car services dealt with The Fort directly as far as any parking permits or anything, so you may want to ask the companies you've chosen if they offer that service as well (I don't think we paid extra for that)
