Barn wedding venues?

Hi everyone,

My fiancee and I had selected (and paid a deposit on) a barn venue outside of Portland for our October 2013 wedding. In yesterday's mail, we received a letter citing legal issues/zoning laws as to why they cannot guarantee us our wedding date any more. Thankfully, they also included a refund of our deposit.

However, we have essentially lost 5 months in the planning process!

Her family is from Old Town, and we are not adverse to getting married in the Bangor area at all...does anyone know of farm houses/barns that can be used for weddings?

I haven't been able to find anything using the trusty interwebs, and am now reaching out to you all for help.

Thank you in advance!

-Kenneth

There are some good barns all over the state. Hopefully you can find another one and continue on with your plans without missing a beat. Some of the best known barn venues for Maine weddings are

Barn on Walnut Hill, North Yarmouth, http://www.thebarnonwalnuthill.com
Marianmade Farm in Wiscasset is a new venue, this will be its first summer, so it's unlikely to be completely booked up. http://www.marianmadefarm.com
Laudholm Farm, Wells, http://www.wellsreserve.org/visit/weddings
Clarks Cove Farm, http://pinterest.com/pin/124904589636222767/
1812 Farm, Bristol, http://www.the1812farm.com
Causeway Club in Southwest Harbor, https://vimeo.com/34353131
