Rachel. It is possible to get married on the wall. There are several permits that have to be gained in order to do so. There is also a fee (depends on the time of the year) that has to be payed to the city for the use of the space. There are also some requirements that have to be taken into consideration such as bathroom facilities, etc. It is very possible though. I recommend EVENTO & COCINA. This firm can help you with everything you need for your wedding. Venue, permits, catering, planning, etc. WWW.EVENTOYCOCINA.COM. They are great!!

Thanks all! I will look into these options!
Does anyone know how much the fee is to have your wedding on the wall? I was hoping to do the same thing. Would love to understand just how expensive it is. Thanks!
Megan, I looked into permits and they were pretty expensive. I ended up doing our ceremony using part of Cafe del Mar's space. It cost about $1,500 USD for a simple ceremony for 50 people. The cost depends on a number of factors, including decorations, number of people, timing, etc. The area we had wasn't very private; we had a lot of onlookers. It didn't bother me, but if that's something that would bother you, you would probably need to pay for a larger area.
Thanks Rachel. That's too bad that it's so expensive - that $1,500 for Cafe del Mar was cheaper! We are only interested in doing a very quick ceremony at the wall - possibly even without chairs - and then heading straight to the reception. We were hoping to be sort of "flash mob" about it (with permits). Maybe that's not going to work out...
Thank you for responding!
The $1500 covered chairs, flowers, water for guests, etc. I don't have the break down for just the cost of using the space - it's probably much less. The trouble with the wall is that it's a UNESCO world heritage site, so there are regulations and costs for using it. You don't have to worry about all of that if you use Cafe del Mar, but you are paying them to set aside space that would normally be used for customers visiting their restaurant.
